All are authentic and have been researched during the past 35 years. Some names have more than one coat of arms, so if you have seen a different family crest than the one we send you, neither is necessarily 'wrong'. We use the oldest coat of arms found during our research. Some names have a motto, some do not. Generally, if the coat of arms was granted prior to 1660 there will not be a motto. You can also choose a double crest, one for the husband, the other for the wife's maiden name to celebrate the joining of two families. The date of the wedding or anniversary can be added beneath the coat of arms if you wish. This makes a popular and unusual wedding or anniversary gift.
